Jan 30- A beautiful sunny morning to be travelling. We left Sarasota at 10:00 am and are heading for Palm Island Marina today. It is about a 35 mile run again. We have about 9 bridges today but only 2 have to lift for us. When we arrived at the marina we were surprised at how tight it was getting down through the channel to our slips which were a side tie next to the condos. There is a wonderful restaurant on the property and a big dog walk area but there are no biking trails here. We have met several Canadians staying either on boats or in the condos, one was from Calgary another from northern Ontario. We are planning on staying 2 nights here.
Jan 31- It is a warm but overcast day today with no wind to speak of. Dave is busy running the HDMI cable which is tight and things are not going too well (lots of swearing). I am taking Koby out for many walks. We had some friends from home, Pat and Bruce Strong who are down in Bradington contact us and they are coming over to visit with us this afternoon. I have been busy cleaning and doing laundry before they come. Bonnie and I have asked to have the courtesy car take us to Publix at 2:00 pm to do some groceries. I visited with Bruce and Pat for about a half hour then had excuse myself to join Bonnie to go get groceries, fortunately they were still aboard when I got back and I was able to visit with them a little longer. It was great to see them and I hope they keep in touch. We later decided to try the restaurant here and found it to be quite good. We played Sequence aboard Sonata for awhile (we beat the guys!).
