GOODBYE DEAR CANADA

Aug 9th- We stayed in Thessalon again today due to a glitch in our health insurance. It was a day of cleaning Manana and doing two loads of laundry. We took Koby for a walk uptown heading for the Home Hardware only to find it was not open on Sundays. We returned Koby to the boat and took a couple of bikes complimentary of the marina up to the Valu Mart for a couple of items. The remainder of the day was rest and relaxation. We are hoping to be on our way to Drummond Island tomorrow to report in to U.S. customs.
Did not know these stores still exist
A lazy day for everybody even Koby

Aug 10th- We're off to Drummond Island at 9:30 am with flat bay and gray skies. We pulled into the pump out dock at 11:30 am and by the time our lines were tied the customs officer was there asking for passports etc and before we knew it we had our cruising permit. We had asked for a B2 permit as well to allow us to be in the U.S. longer than one year but the custom officer suggested we apply for that permit when we return to the U.S. in January. Once we had settled into our slip for the day we were treated to watching a 70 footer coming into the docks here (with a woman captain at the helm). You go girl!! With weather permitting we shall be on our way to Mackinac Island (home of the Grande Hotel) tomorrow. There will be many pictures as this has always been a dream destination.
