SAVANNAH

May 1- We decided to stay another day here so we can take in the sights of Savannah. It is a little overcast and we have a threat of rain so we may get wet while we are sightseeing. We have the courtesy car at 1:00 pm so we are getting a few things done this morning. I did laundry while Dave checked things down in the engine room. In the middle of my laundry he decided to move the boat back on the dock to fuel up and pump out. We got that out of the way and I managed to finish my laundry just in time for us to leave on our sightseeing trip. It took us about 15-20 minutes to get into Savannah. We thought it would be a good idea to take a trolley tour so we could see more and get the history of the area as well. The tour guide was quite humorous and made the tour very enjoyable. The tour lasted 90 minutes and we could get on and off the trolley anywhere along its route. As Bill and Bobbie hadn't had lunch we jumped off at "Market Street" where there were many restaurants and had a bit to eat then jumped back onto the next trolley that came along. We had a great day and a history lesson at the same time. We were a half hour late getting the courtesy car back but I don't think it was an issue as they had all gone home by the time we got back to the marina.

We have just boarded the trolly
The homes of many prominent people of Savannah
This is a woman's hospital donated by a rich spinster
The grey brick made by slave back in 1800's
A beautiful carriage awaits
This woman waves to all who pass on the river
This fountain is the most photographed in the country
They have 20 lovely parks just like this one
